Scrappy Music intership so far..

The internship with Scrappy Music so far had been incredible.  I have come across hardships, but because of those hardships, I have managed to learn a lot.  I have learned a lot about promotions and marketing through the blogs, twitter, craigslist, and press releases.  I have learned to use my creativity in different ways through the scrapbook, twitter updates, and fliers.  I have also learned to be more organized and prompt in my work.  All of these things have made me a better student, and one day, I will be a better worker because of the things I have learned through my Scrappy Music internship.  I have been promoting Scrappy Music in so many ways that I didn’t even think of in the beginning.  There are so many websites that I didn’t know existed, but now, I can use them to promote Scrappy Music and get results from my efforts.  It was so refreshing when Chris told us that our efforts are actually making Scrappy Music become a bigger and more popular company.  It is so amazing to see all of the interns hard work pay off.  As I said before, I have learned so much from this internship, and I am so grateful to have had this opportunity.

Baseball Tailgate was SOOO fun!

The Scrappy Music baseball tailgate was so much fun! There was a ton of amazing food, great music, and I really think that the interns got Scrappy Music’s name out there.  Even though, we didn’t sell as many merchandise packages as Grant and Chris would have hoped, the tailgate was an overall success.  Having this tailgate really showed off our efforts and showcased our progress so far.  Chris reassured us that even though our weekly tasks may not seem to us to be very helpful, we have really helped Scrappy Music expand.  It is now on the first page of Google if you type in independent music! THAT IS HUGE!  So, the the baseball tailgate was a success, and now onto the Spoken Word and Greek Weeks events.  Hopefully they will run just as smoothly!

Scrappy Music Tailgate Progress

Things really have been progressing with the Scrappy Music baseball tailgate! It is only a week away, and I am so excited to see how things play out.  We will be selling food, having music, cornhole, and selling merchandise.  If people buy the merchandise, then they get free beer! Who doesn’t like free beer..?  All of the interns will be placing fliers up around Clemson to make sure that EVERYBODY knows about it.  Things should run smoothly because we have been planning this for a while.  The baseball game should be crazy too because it is the Clemson vs. USC game.  The tailgate is April 8th at 5:30, so make sure to show up!

Personal Campaign Progress..

Scrappy Music is having a baseball tailgate!! It is April 8th.  The game is Clemson vs. USC, so it should be a freaking good game.  Everybody should come hang out at the tailgate.  There will be so many giveaways, including shirts, koozies, and CDs that include the music by artists that Scrappy Music promotes.  I forgot to mention, there will be beer, so you should definitely come now! It is going to be a blast, so invite all of your friends to come join the party!! Make sure to check out Scrappy’s website!!

Successful Meeting

Tuesday night’s meeting was a success!  We had a meeting with Grant and Maggie to discuss our personal campaigns.  It was so helpful to get outside help in finalizing my plan of action for my personal campaign.  So, here it is! My goal is to approach several concert venues in Cincinnati and the surrounding areas to try and get some sort of deal with them.  Perhaps, letting us print their merchandise in exchange for some promoting for Scrappy Music.  Doesn’t sound like too hard of a task, but I don’t have any personal connections, so it is going to be kind of difficult persuading these people to work with Scrappy Music, and even harder with my busted and sick-nasty lip haha.. Maybe a phone call first would be better.  I am really excited to start going around to these venues and hopefully sparking their interest! Check back for more updates on my progress and check out Scrappy Music at http://www.scrappymusic.com!!

Baseball Tailgate

Some of us interns have been planning this baseball tailgate to further promote Scrappy Music, and help to get the name out there.  It has been such a good experience being able to come up with ways to attract more people to our tailgate.  We are going to be playing music, hopefully the music from Scrappy Music‘s online radio station, Scrappy Radio.  That will definitely attract people.  Also, we want to grill food and give it out to the people that come up to our tailgate.  Along with the food and music, I think it is a good idea to give out coozies, T-shirts, stickers, and things like that.  People LOVE free stuff, so those things will really attract a lot of people to our tailgate.  I can’t wait for it to actually happen! We will be meeting with Grant this week to tell him our ideas, so hopefully he will be on board with all the ideas we have come up with so far!

New Updates with Scrappy Music!

So much has been going on with Scrappy Music this week! The bargain basement has T-shirts starting at just $2.95, which is such an insane price. I seriously don’t think that you can find anything cheaper than that.  Also, Scrappy Music is now offering merchandise packages that include T-shirts, stickers, and CD replication.  Another great deal.  Scrappy Music seriously has the best prices around and such amazing service.  I am really hoping to get my campaign really started next week!  It is my main goal to get Scrappy Music‘s name in Cincinnati.  I really want the radio station, Q102 to play E Ness’s new song!! It would be so great if they did! Also, I really want to find some undiscovered indie bands in Cincinnati and get them to start working with Scrappy Music.  I think that by going to the concert venue, The Underground, I will be able to do this!! I am going to really try hard to get these things accomplished and hopefully it will all work out!!  I ALMOST FORGOT!!! Scrappy Music has an article in Clemson‘s newspaper!!! So exciting! Go to http://thetigernews.com to check it out!! Maybe if I talk to some people  in Cincinnati, I can get the article printed in a newspaper up there!

New Distribution Deal with Koch Records!!!

Why wouldn’t a band want to sign with Scrappy Music, now that their music will be sold at Best Buy, Target, etc.? Having a distribution deal with Koch Records is such an amazing step for Scrappy Music!! Now, they can distribute the records for all their signed artists to major retail stores!! There is no question about it. Scrappy Music is now on its way to becoming the next big thing. The opportunity that Koch Records is offering Scrappy Music is so amazing. It really shows that Scrappy Music is not just another struggling independent band label. It is on the rise, and it is not going to stop rising, now that Scrappy Music has a distribution deal with the leading and fastest-growing independent music company in the United States.
